Job Summary:
The Library Assistant will provide essential support to the Librarian in managing the library's operations, resources, and services. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for assisting library patrons. The Library Assistant will perform a variety of administrative and customer service tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the library and enhance the overall user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

6. Respond to reference inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email, providing accurate and timely information to library users.
7. Assist with interlibrary loan requests, coordinating borrowing and lending materials with other libraries.
8. Oversee the circulation desk, including checking materials in and out, registering new patrons, and collecting fines and fees.
9. Collaborate with library staff on collection development activities, recommending new acquisitions based on user needs and emerging trends.
10. Maintain library statistics and generate reports as required.
11. Perform general administrative duties, such as scheduling, record keeping, and maintaining library supplies.
